Boss Mercedes-Benz motorsport cíti, že predošlé dva ročníky im pomohli sa zlepšiť a čeliť skúsenejším tímom.
Ken Block predstavil svoj program pre tohtoročnú sezónu. Vo WRC sa tento rok objaví len trikrát – absolvuje Rally Mexico, Rally New Zealand a Rally Finland, čo bude jeho jediné európske podujatie.
Kým v Jereze figuroval tím Mercedes v tabuľke najrýchlejších časov ešte so starou verziou monopostu, v Barcelone nás už čaká v akcii nový W03.
Na Ukrajine vznikol nový tím z názvom Dream Team Ukraine, ktorý sa okrem iného zúčastní desiatich podujatí IRC. Jeho jazdcami budú Alexander Saliuk a Oleksiy Tamrazov a pretekať budú s Fiestami S2000.
V Mexiku bude síce štartovať len 30 posádok, väčšina z nich sa ale predstaví za volantom WRC špeciálu. Okrem klasických mien uvidíme napríklad i návrat Chrisa Atkinsona, ktorý by sa tento krát skutočne mal udiať.
Eyvind Brynildsen si pri svojom debute za volantom WRC špeciálu na tratiach majstrovstiev sveta na svoje konto si pripísal desiate miesto. Mladý Nór teraz dúfa, že sa tento rok ešte na nejakých podujatiach objaví.
Sébastien Loeb je so šiestym miestom zo svojej nie práve obľúbenej Rally Sweden nespokojný. Chváli ale svojho tímového kolegu Mikka Hirvonena, ktorý vo Švédsku podľa neho ukázal svoju kvalitu.
